Aware & Acknowledge
I heard and saw the injustice of those little souls.
I have been silent and observant. My intention is to be respectful, listen and learn.
There are so many emotions within me right now. I’m just not sure which ones I’m prepared to connect with first. So many tears!
I am embarrassed, angered and saddened by our history. As a child I was unaware, as a teenager, I saw the effects on the streets of my city and didn’t understand. As an adult I have learned that the effects of alcoholism and drug additions are the response to living in a dysfunctional disconnected family, resulting from the experience of residential schools.
Through the connection to my soul and heart, I have become open to and truly honoured to gain an understanding of the indigenous culture. You have so much more to teach me.
All peoples need to be open to listening with curiosity and love. For when you are curious, you do not judge. Love crosses so many barriers, where it is safe to learn and experience something new each day.
I am very sorry that a generation of indigenous people was brutally ripped away from their families, forced, abused, and coerced into living a life that their souls knew was wrong.
How do we all move forward from here?
For we have no choice but to move forward. Each day dawns with the possibilities of something new to discover and something new to learn.
Can there be forgiveness?
When there is no forgiveness, we stay stuck, and the path forward is blocked with anger, hate and so much more. Unforgiveness clouds your ability to truly see the possibilities of coming together and loving.
Forgiveness is the pathway to your heart.
Forgiveness creates a space for growth.
What does healing look like?
To unconditionally love yourself, no matter what happened to you or others.
Sharing love is healing. It carries the energy of pureness.
What do you need to heal?
I celebrate and have an appreciation for the beauty I see in others.
What’s your process? Please teach me.
